New Banner Permit Application
Before you start, have all required information and documents ready — this application cannot be saved.
The fields with red asterisks (*) are required.
All permitees must comply with the banner permit stipulations.
Before You Apply:
- All banners must have a banner permit issued by NYC DOT before installation.
- Banners must promote a cultural exhibit/event, public or historical events.
- Banners must be installed by a licensed rigger.
- Vertical banners only with a maximum size of 3 feet wide x 8 feet long and must have six (6) wind slits.
- Double banners must not exceed 24 square feet and must have three (3) wind slits.
- Approved banners can only be installed on street lampposts.
- Proof of $1,000,000 Commercial General Liability Insurance from a licensed rigger that will install, maintain, and remove the banners.
General Guidelines:
- Permits for new campaigns must be submitted at least 45 calendar days prior to the intended start date for a minimum of 30 calendar days between the application's start and end date.
- Only one permit allowed per borough.
- All fields must be filled out in English only.
